Chief Minister Cup 2025 torch relay organised in Rangareddy

Hyderabad: On January 12, Shamshabad mandal in Rangareddy district hosted the torch relay programme of the second edition of the Chief Minister Cup–2025. The Telangana government organised the event to promote sports and physical fitness among youth.

At the outset, Rajendranagar MLA Prakash Goud flagged off the relay. He actively joined the torch run and interacted with students and sportspersons. While addressing participants, he emphasised the role of sports in building discipline, fitness, and self-confidence.

Meanwhile, District Youth and Sports Officer E. Venkateswara Rao joined the programme along with the Tahsildar and MPDO. In addition, the Mandal Education Officer, Circle Inspector, headmasters, physical directors, teachers, coaches, PETs, students, and public representatives also took part.

Subsequently, the torch relay moved from Shamshabad mandal to the Rangareddy district collectorate. Officials there welcomed the participants and continued the programme.

Later, Rangareddy District Collector C. Narayana Reddy joined the relay at the collectorate. He addressed students and athletes and highlighted how sports help develop leadership, discipline, and good health.

Moreover, a large number of students, teachers, sportspersons, officials, and sports enthusiasts attended the event. Officials urged youth to take part actively in sports and use platforms like the Chief Minister Cup to showcase their talent.

Finally, the Chief Minister Cup–2025 torch relay concluded successfully on January 12. The event marked another step in the state government’s efforts to strengthen sporting culture across Telangana.
