Hyderabad: A private sleeper bus belonging to KVR Travels overturned near Guttugudem village in Dummapeta mandal of Bhadradri Kothagudem district on Tuesday, injuring 12 passengers. The Bus accident reportedly occurred due to brake failure.

According to preliminary information, the bus lost control after its brakes failed near Guttugudem. It veered off the road and overturned in nearby agricultural fields.

At the time of the accident, the bus was carrying 43 passengers. Local residents rushed to the spot and rescued passengers trapped inside the vehicle. They shifted the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Police said 12 passengers suffered injuries, while the remaining passengers escaped unhurt. Doctors confirmed that none of the injuries were life-threatening.

Meanwhile, rescue operations briefly disrupted traffic in the area. Police later cleared the road and restored movement.

Officials registered a case and launched an inquiry into the accident. They are examining the vehicle’s condition and investigating possible mechanical failure.
