Three Panchayat Posts to one family in Manthangoud village
Hyderabad: A Panchayat posts reshuffle in Vikarabad has become a major talking point as one family prepares to take all key roles in Manthangoud village of Basheerabad mandal. The unusual situation has sparked curiosity among residents.
No rival candidates as Bhimappa family takes charge of Panchayat posts
Sixteen years ago, Bhimappa and his wife Venkatamma moved to Manthangoud from Mailwar. Their two sons now stay in Hyderabad. The family holds six registered votes in the village.
The sarpanch seat falls under the Scheduled Tribe (General) category. Ward 4 carries the same reservation, while Ward 6 is reserved for ST-Women. Since no other ST households live in the village, only Bhimappa’s family meets the eligibility criteria.
As a result, the family will occupy the sarpanch post and the two ward positions. Locals describe it as an “accidental monopoly” created purely by the reservation pattern.
