Hyderabad: Taraweeh prayers Hyderabad began across the city’s mosques soon after the Ramadan moon was sighted on February 18, drawing large congregations for the first night of special prayers.

Worshippers gathered in significant numbers at mosques in different localities. Imams led the prayers with devotion and order. As a result, markets in several parts of the city witnessed festive activity following the announcement of Ramadan.

At most mosques, clerics started reciting three paras of the Holy Quran during the first ten days of the holy month. Devotees attended in large numbers and filled prayer halls and courtyards.

Large gatherings mark Taraweeh prayers Hyderabad

The historic Makkah Masjid recorded the largest congregation for Taraweeh prayers Hyderabad on the first night. Rows of worshippers extended beyond the main prayer hall into the courtyard, reflecting the scale of attendance.

Meanwhile, some mosques arranged five-night Shabina prayers, while others scheduled six-night Shabina Taraweeh. These extended night prayers also saw a strong turnout of worshippers.

In several mosques, imams recited one-and-a-quarter paras each night, while others completed one-and-a-half paras during Taraweeh. Organisers said arrangements were made to ensure smooth conduct of prayers throughout Ramadan.
