School bus overturns in Mahabubnagar district, students injured
Hyderabad: A school bus overturned on the Hyderabad–Bengaluru highway near Bala Nagar in Mahabubnagar district on Wednesday, injuring several students.
The bus belonged to Manikantha Junior College in Marikal village of Narayanpet district. It was carrying students on an excursion to Jalavihar. While passing through the Bala Nagar stretch in the Jadcherla area, the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn.
Police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured students to nearby medical facilities. Doctors treated them for minor injuries. Fortunately, the accident caused no serious injuries or fatalities.
School bus overturns during excursion trip
Preliminary inquiries indicate that the driver lost control of the bus suddenly, police said. However, officials continue to examine the exact cause of the accident. Meanwhile, the overturned vehicle briefly disrupted traffic on the highway.
Police later cleared the bus from the road and restored normal traffic. Officials confirmed that they have launched a detailed investigation and will release more information soon.
