PM Modi 25th year: thanks to people, Gujarat recall, fresh resolve

PM Modi 25th year

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked his 25th year as the head of a government by thanking the people of India. He recalled taking oath as Gujarat Chief Minister in 2001 and said his constant goal had been to improve lives and strengthen national progress.

He described those early days as a testing phase. Gujarat had just faced a massive earthquake, and earlier years had brought a super cyclone, droughts, and political instability. These challenges, he said, deepened his resolve to rebuild the state with determination and hope.

Modi also recalled his mother’s words on the day of his oath — to always work for the poor and never take a bribe. He said he had promised himself to act with honesty and serve the last person in the queue.

Gujarat’s transformation and rise in governance

The Prime Minister said that at the time, many believed Gujarat could not recover. Farmers lacked power and water, agriculture had weakened, and industries were stagnant. Yet, through collective effort, Gujarat transformed into a model of good governance and steady growth.

He said the drought-prone state soon became a leader in agriculture. Trade expanded into manufacturing, industries grew, and infrastructure improved significantly. Peace returned to public life, replacing the curfews that once troubled the state.

Recalling 2013, Modi said he was nominated as the Prime Ministerial candidate at a time when the nation faced a crisis of trust and governance. The people, he noted, gave his alliance a strong mandate and his party a clear majority in 2014.

Over the last 11 years, he said, India has seen remarkable change. More than 25 crore people have come out of poverty, and the country has emerged as a bright spot among major global economies. He highlighted the empowerment of women, youth, and farmers through key reforms and welfare programmes.

He added that the national sentiment today is to make India self-reliant in every field. The spirit of “Garv Se Kaho, Yeh Swadeshi Hai” reflects this collective confidence. Modi again thanked the people, calling public service the highest honour. Guided by the Constitution, he reaffirmed his pledge to work harder for a Viksit Bharat.

He shared these reflections through a series of posts focusing on gratitude, Gujarat’s transformation, empowerment, and the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
