NTCT conducts free eye testing camp at Vijay Nagar Colony school
Hyderabad: New Town Charitable Trust (NTCT) conducted a free eye testing camp at the Government High School in Vijay Nagar Colony, where 380 students were screened for vision-related problems as part of a school health initiative.
According to the organisers, the free eye testing camp was held on February 11, 2026. Students underwent eye examinations, their health details were recorded, and required medicines were distributed on the spot. During the screening, doctors observed that nearly 80% of the students were suffering from vision-related issues.
NTCT officials said preparations were underway to provide powered spectacles to students who required corrective lenses. These spectacles would be distributed free of cost during a special programme scheduled to be held at the school next week .
Free eye testing camp highlights student health concerns
Senior eye surgeon Dr. Abdul Khadar addressed students during the programme and spoke about the importance of eye care, healthy food habits, and preventive measures to avoid vision problems. The camp concluded at around 4.30 pm with the support of medical teams, school staff, and NTCT volunteers.
The efforts of NTCT were appreciated by Deputy Education Officer P. Parameshwaramma and Head Master V. Krishna Murthy. Special appreciation was extended to NTCT Secretary Shajiuddin Hyderi and Treasurer Niyaz Ahmed for organising the free eye testing camp and coordinating the programme smoothly .
