Karimnagar youth dies by suicide, sends video alleging family dispute
Hyderabad: A youth from Chigurumamidi mandal in Karimnagar district died by suicide on Tuesday, January 27, allegedly distressed over a dispute with his family members related to a business, police said.
The deceased was identified as Venkateswar Reddy, a resident of Ramancha village, who had married two months ago. Before his death, he recorded a selfie video and shared it with the local sub-inspector, family members and relatives, seeking justice and explaining the reasons behind his decision.
Police said the video, which later circulated widely, showed the youth apologising to his wife, friends and relatives. In the recording, he reportedly alleged that family members were responsible for the circumstances that led to his death.
According to preliminary information, the dispute was related to the management of a shop in which the deceased had invested money. Police said he expressed anguish over ending his life shortly after marriage and referred to emotional distress caused by disagreements within the family.

In the video message, the youth reportedly requested authorities to ensure that the amount he invested in the business was given to his wife. He also appealed for her future security, which family members said reflected his emotional turmoil.
Following the incident, Chigurumamidi police registered a case and began an inquiry into the allegations made in the video. Officials said statements from family members and others concerned would be recorded as part of the investigation.
The incident has cast a pall of gloom over Ramancha village, with locals expressing shock over the death of the young man so soon after his marriage.
