Congress recalls welfare vision as Indira Gandhi statue unveiled in Kamareddy
Hyderabad: Congress leaders in Kamareddy used the unveiling of Indira Gandhi statue to recall her legacy and national contributions. They also highlighted her role in promoting social justice.

Minister Seethakka described her as a symbol of courage and women’s empowerment. She said Indira Gandhi, as India’s first woman Prime Minister, upheld women’s dignity. She added that Indira inspired generations across the country.
Seethakka said the present Telangana government follows the vision of ‘Indiramma Rajyam’. She cited welfare schemes such as Indiramma Illu for housing the poor. She also called her the Iron Lady whose leadership still guides the nation.
TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud praised Indira Gandhi’s sacrifice for national unity. He said her ideals remain central to the Congress party’s philosophy. He added that her 20-point programme shaped many welfare initiatives in place today.
