Home FIR service launched after Dial 100 complaint in Balanagar
Hyderabad: Balanagar police provided a Home FIR service on Monday after responding immediately to a Dial 100 complaint about a theft at a small industrial unit in Madhavi Nagar, registering the case at the spot and handing over the FIR copy to the complainant.
According to Inspector T. Narsimha Raju of Balanagar Police Station, the police received a Dial 100 call reporting the theft on the night of January 26. Acting without delay, officers reached the complainant’s workshop on January 27 and took a written complaint on-site instead of asking the victim to visit the police station.
The complaint stated that unidentified persons had stolen 14 bundles of copper wire worth ₹40,000 from a small unit manufacturing electric panel boards in Madhavi Nagar. After collecting the written complaint at the workshop, the police sent it to the station, registered a case as per law, and returned to the premises to deliver the original FIR copy to the complainant.
Home FIR service eased stress for theft victim
The victim expressed satisfaction with the Home FIR service, stating that the prompt response reduced mental stress and saved time. He noted that police visiting the scene, accepting the complaint, and completing formalities on the spot strengthened public confidence in the police system.
Inspector Raju said the objective of Cyberabad Police was to protect victims’ rights and dignity while ensuring fast and professional policing. He added that doorstep services such as on-the-spot FIR registration were intended to prevent inconvenience to victims immediately after a crime.
