Bandi Sanjay demands impartial probe in phone tapping case
Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has demanded a full and impartial investigation into the phone tapping case in Telangana. Speaking in Karimnagar, he welcomed the decision by the SIT to issue notices to former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and former minister Harish Rao.
Sanjay alleged that phones of several top leaders, including his own, were illegally tapped. He said this led to serious disruptions in the lives of affected families. He further claimed that even close relatives of BRS leaders—sons and sons-in-law—were not spared from surveillance.
Bandi Sanjay alleges misuse of intelligence agency for extortion
He accused the previous government of misusing the State Intelligence Bureau (SIB), a respected national agency, to extort money from contractors and political leaders. He asked whether issuing notices to KCR and KTR was enough or if a real investigation would follow to expose all those responsible.
The BJP leader criticised the government for dragging out the case like a TV serial instead of taking solid action. He urged that investigating officers be given complete freedom and not be pressured. Sanjay also demanded a probe into whether businessmen and industrialists were extorted in the name of surveillance. “It is time to expose the real masterminds,” he said.
